Five steps from eligibility to Week 12

Step 1

Check your course is APEL.C-ready

Before anything else, confirm your intended course already has an approved APEL.C pathway.

If listed: Search the official list to confirm your course already qualifies. View list of courses →

If not listed: Submit this request so your course can be assessed before you start Step 2. Open course request form →

Step 2

Phase 1 — Student application & initial screening

Submit your application along with the RM60 processing fee. Your faculty advisor will then reach out to help you complete a self-assessment — passing it unlocks Phase 2.

Week 3 · Phase 1 · Processing fee: RM60

Step 3

Phase 2 — APEL.C application

Once you pass the self-assessment, complete and submit the official APEL.C application with your advisor's help.

Week 4 · Phase 2 · Application fee: RM80/credit (min)

Forms: Lampiran C Lampiran D

Your advisor, assessor and moderator will be appointed around Week 4.

Step 4

Phase 3 — Application processing

The longest step: your application is assessed by the Faculty Assessment Committee across Weeks 5–11.

You may need to submit a portfolio, sit a challenge test, or attend an interview. Results are typically ready by around Week 10.

Didn't pass evaluation? You can appeal once, within Weeks 10–11. Lampiran G — Appeal form

Step 5

Phase 4 — Update academic status

Once the application passes evaluation, APEL UTeM reports the outcome and your academic record is updated.

Week 12 · Phase 4

Your result is finalised around Weeks 12–13, and your academic record is updated to reflect the outcome.
